What's in the News

I know that it is not really news, but I’m going to talk about the election anyways. I am going to try to stay away from anything real opinion related, but I do not know how good I will be at that. I will be attempting to avoiding any sort of rise in anyone because I know this can be a highly arguable subject.

These ads are just horrible. Just horrible. I mean, all I hear is that this guy is bad for this reason, and that guy is bad for that reason. It all to seems to be just one big blur for me. All candidates are bad for every reason. They seem to be bashing each other for the same things that they are doing them selves. “This person voted for this” well, you kinda did too according to these adds. I could be wrong, but that seems to be the case to me.

I wish they would give it to me straight:
•This is what opponents is doing
•This is why it is bad
•And this is what I will do to fix it.
Instead of:
•Do not vote for this person because this is what he/she has done.

Why should I vote for you then? I only have one vote, I’m going to make it count.

With a normal commercial, you never see, “do not buy this product because of this breaking, or not working, and instead buy me” and then they never say why they are good. They always say this product is bad, and mine is better for this reason because of Reason A and Reason B. I want to know what good you have done instead of what bad others have done.

I talked to a few of my friends about going out and voting, and we got onto the topic of not even voting at all. They suggested that if they vote while not knowing anything about any candidates, then they are just screwing up the voting results. With all the resources out there, a large one being the internet, not knowing anythign about the candidates is not a reason to no vote.

Labor Day Work-end.

I decided that I want to builld my own computer. I am a computer whiz who has never done this before. And until I do, I will never feel like I truly am one. So I went to Newegg.com for computer parts. I looked at the main computer part, and all I saw were letters and numbers. An example to this would be: ECS X58B-A2 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard. This scared the hell out of me. What is all this!? Well, I remembered that I’m in a computer hardware class. I ran to my car, pulled out my book, and read through the entire chapter on this particular item. It answered nearly all of my questions. I was so excited. Afterwards, I looked up various other parts, and read the appropriate chapters. I read/skimmed at least half of my huge book already, and the class just started. Thanks to my passion, I have got a huge headstart to the semester.

In between my times on the computer, I worked. I had a very boring weekend. I can hardly even remember most of it. We got a new worker on my shift. I work overnight at McDonald’s in Tomah, so a new person is a big deal. That brings our total up to 6 people. During the day, it can range from 10 to 25. She used to work at a McDonald’s, but in another city, so she knows how to make the sandwiches, but is uncomfortable being in a new place. I tried talking to her, to loosen her up. She ended up gigling a lot more as the night went on. I figured I helped her loosen up. Thanks in part to the new coworker, we got a lot of work accomplished. We are actually much more busy on overnights than people believe. We get asked a lot if we get bored, but in reality, we hardly ever get all of our work done because of all the people.

About That Thing Called Sammer

My name is Sam Brohaugh. My parents nicknamed me Sammer for no real reason. They never even realised they were calling me Sammer until one day when I told them I liked it. If you were to call me Sammer, I would respond to it much quicker.

A lot of people call me weird. I like being kind of different. Most people like who I am, so I'm not the creepy kind of weird. I'm very relaxed, and say what I want with no fear of being ridiculed, but do sensor myself so as to not harm anybody. I'm all about having fun, and just being goofy. I'm not an outgoing person, but try to be.

I've been tinkering with computer all my life, and have since gotten very good at them. I rode a horse for the first time last summer. It was an incredible experience. I'm not so into video games like I was when I was younger. My favorite color is green. I am left-handed.

This summer I went to Nebraska to see my friend and her husband before they move to Italy because her husband is in the military. I'm pretty jealous. I also went to St. Louis this summer with two good friends of mine. My favorite thing about that trip was the boba tea. It's Tea with boba balls in it. What are boba balls, you may ask? Well, they're tapioca gummies, only the size of marbles, and not very sweet.

I have 2 brothers, and I'm the middle child. I love being the middle child because I have an older brother to compete with, and a younger brother to keep under my thumb. Hehehe. I love my parents very much, and I know they love me.

Diagnostic Paragraph

I never saw myself as a very strong writer, despite the fact that I usually got decent to good grades on my papers. I took 2 writing courses at University of Wisconsin-Stout, and usually got B’s on the papers. I am very good at grammar, and from there I developed my skills in topic sentences, and having the paragraph relate to the topic sentence. However, my paragraphs are not usually very long. If there is one thing I want to accomplish in this class, it is making sure that my papers are long enough to meet the length requirements, and to not have much “filler material.” That is, I do not want to be paraphrasing my own sentences for five pages.

My name is Sam.

And this post is used to help me figure out exactly how I want my blog to look. I'm messing with text colors and fonts, table colors and whatnot. Thanks!
